Joining ACS
Becoming involved with The American Constitution Society at The University of Chicago is easy. The Chapter events are open to all students, staff, and friends, but the full privileges of membershipincluding the right to vote, hold an Executive Board position and participate in the Events Committee are reserved for students who are nationally registered members of ACS. An easy way to get involved early and in a limited capacity is to work on the ACS Events Committee. The Events Committee actually executes all the logistical functions necessary to make each event successful. This can include anything from greeting speakers, to picking up food or drinks, to cleaning up after the event. On different occasions, Events Committee members are invited to attend Executive Board meetings to observe and participate in the executive decision-making process.
If you would like to become a nationally registered member of ACS to enjoy full chapter benefits, you may do so by credit card on the national ACS website. If you join through the national website, please make certain to provide full information, including your law school and class. Please notify the local membership director if you register directly with the national ACS to become recognized as a full Chicago Chapter member.
In the alternative, you may contact the local membership director to pay by cash or check.
